Clsss Description
The students have been very busy during the 3rd nine weeks period. Students have been working on the following topics: consonants and vowels and their corresponding sounds; identifying syllables in words; stressed and unstressed syllables; closed syllables; vocabulary development; compound words; antonyms; homophones; synonyms; multiple-meaning words; idioms; comprehension skills; main ideas and supporting details; fluency; and reading strategies such as sequencing, cause and effect, and facts and opinions. We have also worked on how to answer open response questions.

Comments Chris has had a pretty successful nine weeks. Homework and preperation continue to be an issue for Chris. Most of the problems Chris is having with fractions and measurement stems from not practicing enough to build a level of fluency. We will start off the next period with some supervised study to see if we can get Chris into some better out of class work habits.
